Lake Travis Area 12U Select Softball

OUR MISSION

To cultivate a youth softball team that prioritizes the heart and growth of each player above all else. Through unwavering commitment to character, confidence, and community, we aim to create an environment where every player thrives, every achievement is celebrated, and every setback is an opportunity for growth. Together, we redefine success in youth sports, ensuring it's measured by the enduring impact we leave on our players' lives.

OUR PLAN

Our plan for this first season is to schedule 5 tournaments with the option to add on if the team and its families want more! Practices will be held twice per week in the Lake Travis area. Our focus will be on fundamentals and reps because we believe that great players are built from the ground up and that correct repetition of small details will lead to big plays.

DENNY + PAGE MCDANIEL

HEAD COACHES

Denny and Page have coached a combined 25 seasons of baseball and softball with the LTYA organization.

ASSISTANT COACH

Lyle has been a part of the Lake Travis softball community for 6 seasons.

Lyle ventured into coaching softball in the Spring of 2023 and Summer All Stars 2023. Most recently he coached baseball with Cedar Park Youth League.

Graduating from the University of Texas, Lyle played college football at UT and was a part of one of the greatest offensive lines in Texas history. He went on to play in the NFL for 9 years as part of the Arizona Cardinals, including playing in Super Bowl XLIII, and finally retiring from the sport in 2015.

Lyle loves bringing his professional experience to young athletes, especially on the softball field with his daughter. He lives with his wife, Lindsey, and their two kids in the Lake Travis community.

JUSTIN KELLY

CONDITIONING AND MINDSET

Justin has been coaching in the Lake Travis area for 4 years. Justin served as the head coach for 4 successful seasons of LTYA softball as well as 6 seasons of flag football.

Justin grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area with a single mom who didn't own a car to get him to sports practices. After being told in high school that he would be nothing more than a gas station attendant, Justin set out to prove everyone wrong. He believed in himself and started his own company in 1999 mentoring college students to help them pay their own way through school via a community-based service.

He married his high school sweetheart, Lauren, in 2002 and made a pledge that when he had his own children they would learn to be resilient in the face of adversity while also offering them opportunities he never had as a kid.

With a coaching style centered on mindset, resilience, and consistency, Justin takes pride in coaching youth to prove their inner critics wrong and reach their full potential. He believes that, with enough heart, everyone can achieve greatness regardless of their skill or circumstance.

Justin is an entrepreneur at heart, owning several businesses over the years to serve the community. He lives in the Lake Travis community and currently enjoys cheering his 15-year-old son on while he plays Lake Travis football and wrestling. Go Cavs!

LAUREN KELLY

TEAM OPERATIONS

Lauren has been coaching in the Lake Travis area for 4 years, having partnered with her husband, Justin through several successful seasons of LTYA softball.

Today she is a successful operations and human resources consultant, advising more than two dozen nonprofits and small businesses on operations, human resources, and board governance. She has more than 20 years of experience in start-ups and small business environments and is excited to help the LT Gamblers organization be all that it can be.

When she's not working, Lauren loves cultivating her kid's passions. She spends a lot of time driving all over the Lake Travis community to watch her kids to play football, volleyball, softball, and wrestling.

When she is not taking care of everyone else, Lauren enjoys walking and hiking with her dog, Poppy and spending quality time with her family.
